1. EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The recruitment process is a complex process where finding the right candidate at right time for the right job. Thus it necessitates the need of the organization to reduce the recruitment cycle and the hiring cost involve. Thus the need of Applicant Tracking system is gaining more importance. An applicant tracking system (ATS), also called a candidate management system, is a software application designed to help an enterprise recruit employees more efficiently. An ATS can be used to post job openings on a corporate Web site or job board, screen resumes, and generate interview requests to potential candidates by e-mail.
An attempt has been made in this project to study the functional feasibility of ITRM- HR tool in India to form an applicant tracking system for Pharmacy Company and its benefits if implemented and to understand the functional requirements of system and its processes. Analysis report regarding the choice of ATS (applicant tracking system) before purchase of the product. The sales of ATS in the Pharmaceuticals companies based on the various factor which determined the basic need apart from recruitment. The area of concentration was on the mid size segment company in the area of Hyderabad and Mumbai.
To realize the factor that contributes for the selection of ITRM - HR tool an ATS in Pharmaceuticals Company for their recruitment process. The objective when attained will show us how the mid size pharmaceuticals company look at the ATS as an important tool for their recruitment process. From the analysis it is found that above 50% company prefer ATS for recruitment process where the most important causes of concern is the recruitment cycle, cost of hiring, Return on Investment (ROI), internal integration with the website and Email Tracking system. Thus, concentrating on this parameter the focus of attention was selecting the potential client based on turnover, number of employees, number of job opening and number of candidate hired per annum.
ATS act as a catalyst which can speed up the recruitment cycle and reduce the hiring cost. Apart from ATS being a recruitment tool it can act as a time tracking system for candidate. The adding of features as per the organization will help improve its productivity and effective utilization of product if the above features are supported with the product. Also inclusion of "Payroll" would enhance the feature and will apt for sales of the product "ITRM-HR" tool.

The information technology (IT) industry has become one of the most robust industries in the world. IT, more than any other industry or economic facet, has an increased productivity, particularly in the developed world, and therefore is a key driver of global economic growth. Economies of scale and insatiable demand from both consumers and enterprises characterize this rapidly growing sector The Information Technology industry has enabled India to accelerate in the path of growth. Globally the IT has revolutionized the activity towards atomization. There are many top notch company delivering quality products. They cater the services to all verticals from manufacturing, retail, banking and financial institution The Indian Information Technology Industry is without any doubt the acknowledged world leader. The availability of technical human capital, proficiency in English, cost competitiveness, quality training institutes and favorable reforms has led to India being a most sought after destination for global companies to outsource their business.
The IT sector can be broadly classified into four categories -
IT Enabled Services - Uses telecom networks or the internet.
Engineering Services - It includes industrial, mechanical, electronic design and validation testing.
ITES-BPO Services - It includes processes that may be IT-enabled, do not necessitate on-shore presence and are hence, offshore-able.
E Business - It includes buying and selling, service customer where business is carried on the internet.
Third-party units - BPO service vendors that are mostly independently owned units (i.e. no single client has a controlling stake in the vendor entity). Third-party vendors also include a small section of MNC-owned independent third-party vendors, such as Convergys, SITEL, Vertex and Sykes, having a significant part of their global operations based out of India.
The Indian information technology (IT) industry has played a key role in putting India on the global map and is now envisioned to become a US$ 225 billion industry by 2020. Currently, the industry is characterized by the presence of a few very large companies with a couple of billion dollars in turnover, each employing in excess of 50,000 people. The majority of these companies provide outsourced services to their overseas clients. These services include maintenance of existing software, development of new software, remote infrastructure management, product design and development and increasing amounts of IT and business consulting.
REVENUE
The overall Indian Software & Services industry revenue is estimated to have grown from US$ 10.2 billion in 2001-02 to reach US $ 58.7 billion in 2008-09- translating to a CAGR of about 26.9 per cent. Despite the severe global recession, the industry grew at modest rate of 12.9 % in 2008-09. Among the verticals serviced by India's IT-ITES-BPO industry those that account for the largest share of revenue are banking, financial services and insurance(BFSI-41%), Hi-Tech/Telecom(20%), manufacturing(17%), retail(8%), with smaller contributions coming from media, publishing and entertainment, construction and utilities, healthcare and airlines and transportation.
