PC Versus Mac
The Mac vs. PC debate is one of the most controversial topics when it comes to computers. People usual debate on which is better in terms of being user friendly, cost and reliability amongst others. There are many similar features, as well as differences between the two types of computers. When searching for the right computer, every potential user would need to look at some of the main factors such as the compatibility, appearance, the operating system and importantly what one really needs and want in a computer.
These both computers share a few similarities. One of the main factors shared among them both is that the Mac and PC both have the basic foundations of a computer which is the keyboard, monitor and mouse. Macs and PCs both can run the on the Microsoft application. Both computers come pre-installed with lots of games and the basic help and support files that they need to function correctly. They both can be personalized to the user’s preference. For example, each computer has voice commands, maps, and a keyboard and mouse as an interface. Despite all the similarities, there are also a few differences between these two awesome computers.
The differences between the Mac and the PC computers outweigh the number of similarities that they both share. The main operating system of the Mac is the OSX. However, unlike the PC which only uses the Microsoft Windows as the main operating system. The PC is mostly used for office work and mainly used for spreadsheets, formal documents and graphs. The PC computer ids completely customizable and it is easy to do just about anything to the device. At an affordable price, the PC cost half of what a Mac computer cost. Macs are much more expensive, with some models costing well over $1000. In contrast, PCs are cheaper, and some are priced as low as 40% cheaper than comparable Macs. Mac computers are more media based and is usual for music, movies and animation lovers. The device allows you to customize your computer based on your lifestyle. It comes pre- installed with software such as garage band and iMovie for generating music and videos. When it comes to appearance, the PC is a bit bulky and tend to be a hassle to assemble. As for the Mac, the device is very sleek and heavy duty. The Mac computer is a basic piece of technology, they are easy to work with and are moderately small compared to PCs. Although the PCs appearance may be customizable, with Macs, it cannot be physically altered to the user’s specifications. When it comes to the suppliers of the devices, the Mac computers are all exclusively produced, distributed and marketed by Apple Inc. There are however, several companies that make and distribute PCs and they include HP, Dell, Acer, Toshiba, Lenovo, Gateway, Samsung, etc. This is a reason PCs cost less than Macs, as each company is likely to offer competitive prices to attract more buyers.
In conclusion both Macs and PCs are very reliable and user-friendly computers. The main factor for users is the compatibility, appearance, operating system and sustainability. Overall, when it comes to choosing between the two computers it is all about the user’s personal choice. Whenever it comes the time for the everyday person to buy a computer he or she should not contemplate what computer they want. However, it should be determined by what they want in a computer. For those who need something for formal pieces of work for a cheap price, Windows is the computer for you. However, if you want the experience of computing without frustration, something that is simple to work with, and something that can bring out the most in your creativity, the Mac is for you.
