Reasons on Returning to College
Returning to school was a hard choice to make in my late adulthood. I have been out of school for a long time and I have forgotten a lot that I learned over the years. I guess, I decided to return to school because I want a better life than the one I have. As I was preparing myself to return to school I had a fear at forty-two years old and having no conceive opinion, idea, knowledge or previous notion that I would be the only forty something in the class.
Returning to school was not an easy decision after I had the accident, but it was imperative to provide for a family and myself and to obtain my degree and would also be pertinent to my future and the future of my family. It will also provide financial stability so that I can continue to take care of them and be able to contribute more to my household. In addition, I would like my children to have a positive role model and let them know that it is very important to receive a college education. I would also like them to see that whatever age they are that it is never too late to return to school and get a degree.
After the accident, I have to explore the issues why I want to return to school. I have decided to return to college: so that I can better my job opportunities. The real reason is today we are experiencing that I believe is a recession; that is making it hard for everyone else including me to get a good descent job with just a high school diploma or a little or no college courses or a degree.
There were many reasons I decided to return back to school. One main reason is the fact that obtaining a degree is one of the major personal goals I set for myself and not completing that goal would be unacceptable. Being in college, I will be able to take classes that with any luck will enhance my writing ability, and may possibly help me with my creativity as well. One of the reasons why I went back to school was so I can get a good education, because having an education is something important in life, you feel confident, accomplished and you gain more knowledge. When going back to school you develop verbal skills, which are important in general, and especially, in Early Childhood Education and being in a teacher position. My decision I made was I want to make something out of myself, and I know that I am capable of doing it.
The real obstacle reasons that I have so much difficultly to go back to college is during the day, the laundry has to folded, and put away. In addition, we have a one-month new born that I have
