Ethical Awareness

A necessary part of the professional practice of any social worker is ethical awareness. The quality of the service offered to clients is accordingly to the aspect of ethical action. The result of a complex interaction between individual is regarding on how the individuals acts ethically or unethically. As the university students, they would become a future professional and managers. In order for them to respond to the global challenges, they need to be improved and developed their ethical value. According to Manisha Paliwal (2007), the ethical, the right thing to do, is action that best serves the ideas of honesty, integrity, morality and good management practices. This also means that all the individual characteristics and inner content can lead to the individual ethical collectivity. Hence, to implement the university students with ethical value, higher education institution plays a pivotal role by linking the ethics course in the education system. Hence, the academicians need to take action to build and nurture the ethical culture among students. There are several question raises:
(i) Whether the students in Malaysian University have sufficient ethical knowledge and to what extend they apply the knowledge in outside of academic situation?
(ii) Whether between female and male university students have different perception in certain ethical situation?
(iii) Whether ethical attitudes among university students are affected by the religiosity?
