Don't we all need to be healthy? - Yes

Master of ceremony, fellow youth leaders and Guests - A very healthy good evening to one and all.

Millions of people around the world are spending their wealth to recover their health. This is not because they are born with sickness. This is only because of their unhealthy habits. People earn wealth and lose their health and later they lose their wealth to recover the health.

Yes, this is true fact of modern societies, where people don't have time for themselves. The environment tends them to do the things in shortcut. Everything is available, packed and readymade for use. This readymade system reduced the physical exercise in our day to day life.

I remember when I was a child, I started laughing when I saw a fat man running like a baby and his belly was dancing while running. Then I asked my father why this man is running. My father answered me that he was recovering his health. I didn't understand the meaning of recovering of health that time. But now I came to know the importance of health because I lost my grandfather in his early age because of Diabetes.

Did you see any animal or bird taking insulin or blood pressure tablets - No? Did you notice any animal or bird going for a walk or jogging - No? Why they are living in an open, dusty environment. There is no A/C in summer or no blanket in winter.

Today the most common and deadly disease is Diabetes. This disease is called the Mother of all diseases and my grandfather was suffering from this deadly disease. He could hardly walk and had a lot of pain in his body. In fact he used to say that this pain is more dangerous than death. He could not bear this disease for a long time and soon passed away. When you don't care for your health, you suffer these kinds of diseases. There is no cure for this disease but of course there is prevention. And you all know that prevention is better than cure.

Day by day the death toll is increasing of sugar patient, blood pressure, heart diseases, cancer and many more. Technology is improving but health problems are increasing. These days H1N1 virus shocked the world and millions of people are suffering for their life. As per the yesterday's BBC news, 22 million American's are suffering from H1N1 and 98 thousand are hospitalised. You can imagine what will happen if it spreads in the poor or developing counties.

When we talk about physical health, the first thing we remember about is our stomach. Yes, I am taking about the Obesity. Approximately, 70% of the people worldwide are suffering from Obesity. Of course, even here in Toastmasters' I can see many people suffering from obesity and some even waiting for the dinner. But, just imagine - You are in the flight sitting on your seat and the seat belt doesn't fit you. What would you do? To prevent such conditions from happening,
