Health policies are not generated overnight, similar to organizing effective policies and procedures it occurs over time. The war on healthcare is an on-going battle with politics therefore the people are those whom are affected, specifically within the insurance arena. Obtaining suitable evaluation to guarantee the proper healthcare advantages are selected can be vital for the normal U.S. citizen. Currently, there is an economical crisis which causes discrepancies within the healthcare industry and in our society. It is crucial that insurers comprehend the array of benefits which are proposed by Federal, State and an employer (if applicable). Health policies cover health plans such as Medicare, Medicaid, Managed Care and Commercial health plans which are offered to an individual but alone it can impact society.

Medicare in particular is the type of healthcare insurance with the intention of helping the elderly population (65 years or older) and those that have been identified with "disabilities under 65 years ago and diagnosed with End-Stage Renal Disease (ESRD)". (Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, 2008). Components of Medicare eligibility should require legalized United States citizens with established 5 year citizenship. (Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, 2008). Overall, Medicare coverage can be seen as a level of expectancy as serves as a cushion for the elderly.

Medicaid is specific policy governed by Federal and State that is utilized to assist those less fortunate families in poverty or with a set annual income. Unlike Medicare whom is geared toward the elderly, unlike Medicaid eligibility is presented to an assortment of people. However criterions are set for eligibility prerequisite, which are "age, pregnancy status, disability, elderly and the blind", in addition the income and economic sources are valuable assets that assist with the eligibility. (Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, 2008). Both Medicaid and Medicare treatment condition require similar citizenship or lawful immigration entry conditions, this alone are a social factor that tends to stir emotions.

The impact of healthcare policies does impact social factors, specifically the policies of healthcare insurance that are implemented by Federal and State.
