I recently visited the May Stringer Heritage Museum. While there I learned about life during the 1800's and 1900's. The May Stringer House has a rich history and has been upheld over the years to maintain its artifacts. The museum helped me compare the lives of people from the 18th and 19th century with my own life and showed me how much easier my life is compared to people from just two centuries ago.

The artifacts displayed in the museum were amazing. They ranged from paintings to weaponry. The first room in the museum is the parlor, or living area, where the artifacts are household items. The difference between furniture of that time period and today just shows how much our society has advanced over the last century.

The 18th century is a critical period of American history when many new technologies were being introduced to the world. The Heritage Museum shows the major inventions of this time period and helped me understand how life was during this time. I now know how different my life is from people in the 18th century and how much life has changed since that time. I have learned how the people of this time contributed to my life and how they have changed history for the world.

Even though this is a small town it holds a great significance in history. The May Stringer Heritage Museum was made to preserve that history. By visiting the museum one can learn about the lives of people during the 18th and 19th centuries and compare their lives to people of that time.
