High School athletics have had a huge impact on my life in many ways. One of the main impacts it has had on my life is that it has taught me how to be a team player and to be able to work well with others. Playing a team sport involves communication between everyone to be able to function properly. Being able to do so helps bring a team together and play as one. Also, with being a senior the underclassmen look up to you. I have learned how to be a good role model with this I have learned how to help them out with becoming the best player that they can be and learning the game even better. This has helped me become a better leader towards others. It has taught me to help others whenever is possible, just so they don't have as much of a load. I have learned to have others back and to stick to my word when they need my help. I have also learned to be accepting to new players because they usually don't know anybody else and its hard coming to a new team, especially if the team is not welcoming. So because of this I have learned to be welcoming towards them to make them actually want to stay and be a part of our team. High School athletics have helped me in becoming a better person and have had a huge impact on my life. I will always cherish the fond memories as well as the life lessons that I have endured through my years playing.
