SEC/310

International, Global, and Domestic Business Paper

A year ago I was the manager of a security company in California, there are a lot of contracts that have different types of businesses that are all over and far from the state that has to actually be renegotiated every month. The negotiations included things like what the other business or businesses expected of our security company, which included our job duties, the hours needed to be fulfilled by our employees, and lastly payments for the duties our employees accomplished. Once a new company has agreed to everything, they will than sign the contract and it will be viewed in three month intervals. After the contract is approved, it's my job to make sure that the employees are assigned to each new client. I also make sure that the security officers are highly professional people, properly trained, and equipped so they can perform their job with the up most perfection. Even though managing a private security company, it seems to have very little impact on international and global business. However it affects our economy and labor situations in each and every single country working in and the same time safety as well as security of each.

A question that is asked is "how local contract Security Company can affect international and global business and domestic businesses?" This will be fulfilled because the main office is located in California; the company in which I have worked has business all over the United States, because of that they have interest in other countries beyond our countries borders. With this being said, our managers will have less direct contract with the customers, management and our security officer on different locations, which will make majority of the contact with customers by phone or email. In time, if the company is not careful, the security will diminish because the security officers are not being supervised constantly which can lead to misinterpretations, lack of clarifications, as well as language barriers if our security officers are deployed overseas. "On the top of that the local company's security and safety of property and personnel could be threatened by the threat of terrorism, kidnappings, and drug trafficking" (Ortmeier, 2009, p. 355). I believe a manager should be able to work as well as function in this global and high technological world. Also at the same time they should be able to confront the forever changing world. A manager should also be very knowledgeable, highly understanding, and appreciate as well as manage all requirements.

Since September 11, 2001 every single American knows and understands what terrorism is, as well as what will actually happen if America happens to let its guard down. Security has grown immensely, and today the Department of Homeland Security is the head of the United States security. Since I live in California, security issues include dealing with illegal immigrants, and trying to keep the drug cartels out of California, and the United States. Cultural differences pose a serious impact on how to do security in foreign countries. There are many different cultures in our world that are extremely different than the United States.
