1. If the user wants to find IU Health’s blog page all they have to do is type it in the browser or use the hyperlink above to go right to the page. The webpage is 100% user friendly and easy to navigate which makes it a comfortable site for all ages to use. When the user gets to the site, they will first see the title bar which is IU Health Strength- the IU Health Blog. Next to the title is the search bar; there they can type in any event, health issue, or facts they might want to learn about. I typed in ‘Heart Attack’ and then the next page was a list of results that best fit what I typed in, similar to using a browser.
2. There are tabs that are just under the title bar that are labeled Wellness, Treatments, Innovations, Community, and Stories. These tabs will open up other links to related options of that tab. For instance, the Community tab will show Announcements, Events, Garden On The Go, and Race for the Cure.
3. Below the title bar and search bar are the top articles that are new for the day and the top articles that have been up on the page in the past few days. This allows users to see what articles have been on the page in the last few days if they just so happen to miss anything.
4. On the right side of the web page is the section labeled ‘Patient Stories’. In this section IU Health will post articles of patients triumphs over illnesses or disasters like near death injuries or the journey of overcoming cancer. They will post three stories in that section (not sure how frequently the stories come in and not sure how often they are posted).
5. Just below the ‘Patient Stories’ section is the ‘Riley Connections’ tab which is the same layout and options for the user like the IU Health Blog page. This tab is a link that will bring the user to the IU Health Riley Connections Blog Page. Here the user will find three of the top articles just like the IU Health Blog page. The articles will talk about anything child related or health, such as ‘5 Creative Fall Outdoor Activities for the Whole Family’, ‘Halloween Safety- How to Keep Your Kids Safe on Halloween’ and ‘Hospital Art Show Sets the Stage for Healing’
6. Close to the bottom of the IU Health Blog webpage the user will find a hyperlink that says ‘View All IU Health Updates’. This hyperlink gives access to all of the articles that have been posted to the webpage. Then at the very bottom of the webpage are the tabs to get the user to IU Health’s main page and tabs that will tell about the history of IU Health and much more, such as contacts, volunteering, and other links to various different types of social media.
7. Other options that the webpage provides is a subscribe button so that the user will be able to get the newest information alerted to them as soon as possible.
