Dear Sir/Madam,
I am a 39 year old mother of five and a Registered Practical Nurse. I currently work with Alzheimer's residents in a Long Term Care facility. I started my profession in healthcare as a Personal Support Worker in 2004. Through hard work, determination and the love of learning, I have seen myself transform from a shy African girl into a confident and competent healthcare professional. I graduated as a Registered Practical Nurse at Humber College in 2007 and completed my bridging to BScN at Centennial College December, 2011. Because Ryerson University is one the best universities and Canada's leading provider of university-based adult education, I am motivated to fulfill my dream of being a Registered Nurse in your Bachelor of Science in Nursing (Part-Time) Program.
I have a friend who has a degree in Nursing from Ryerson and she highly recommended that I attend Ryerson. So when it was time for me to decide which college I was going to attend, I only considered one that collaborates with Ryerson. Centennial College has prepared me for the high standard of education that Ryerson offers. I am a hardworking and committed individual. These values have helped me achieve more in life than I ever expected. People usually see having five kids as a barrier, but I find that as a family, working as team makes life very easy. I have also applied for daycare for my two little ones. This will give me time to study and do my assignments, so I can be there for them when they return from school.
By succeeding in your program, I can become a registered nurse and I hope to continue to study later on and become a nurse practitioner. As a Registered Practical Nurse, I have learned the importance of time management and being accountable for my actions. I am very much equipped with the skills and strength to help through my program at Ryerson. Having been the first person in my family to obtained a degree in Nursing, I know I will be making my family proud, knowing that I have done my best to accomplish the goals I have set for myself. I am grateful for having this opportunity to apply as a student in your university. I know that in your university, I will be able to achieve my goals and improve my skills further. Thank you for considering my application.
Sincerely,
