Morning Chaos
I woke up this morning to the sound of my alarm clock, blasting the melodic tunes from my favorite radio station. I open my eyes; it's bright from the early morning sun gleaming through the cracks of my blinds, bouncing off the four walls. As I lay in my bed suddenly a loud voice resounded through the motionless house. "Revelry" "Revelry" "Revelry" all men on deck he screamed.
As I wildly surveyed my spacious sleeping quarters and bring my mind out of its unconsciousness and back into the real world. I assume it must be sometime around five in the morning. I pounded the snooze bar with the precision of a hammer hitting a nail.
I hear the sound again, "Revelry" "Revelry" "Revelry" all men on deck he screamed a little bit louder this time. I lay there, head barely protruding out from the warmness contained under my newly purchased Martha Stewart nine-hundred thread count sheets and down comforter.
Having been forced to fully open my heavy eyelids and remove the morning dew that covers them. Off in the distance, I hear the thunderous voice of this disciplined military man clad in his morning attire of a worn-out housecoat and his dilapidated slippers with his morning brew in hand barking his morning "Revelry" chant.
Agitated by this obnoxiously early morning wake call procedure, I hear the growling voices of my grumpy teenage mutants slowing rising from the murky depths of their dungeon squinting their beady eyes at the small alarm clock with colossal red numbers, glaring at them angrily as though they are the enemy.
As I tiredly crawl out of my warm comforter, I stretch, meditate, and thank God for a new day. I lethargically wipe away the grit of a good night's sleep from my eyes and see the dim numbers of the clock taunting me as I slowly rise out of bed. Even though our senior drill sergeant is annoying in the morning, we appreciate his tenacious military tactics to awake the hibernating bears in our humble abode.
