Nation's Military Service

Good morning, I'm Jude Agbanobi and today I will inform you about our nation's military service and the three things every potential recruit looks for when joining a respectable branch, which are the pride and history of the select branch, ranking structures with a pay grade system which establishes ones pay based on time in the military, and they all take great pride in their physical and mental strength building.
How many of you know this famous quote from one of our former presidents,
"President John F. Kennedy once stated, 'Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country,' And today I plan to tell you the same thing"
A.) Personally in High School, I didn't know how much some serving their country meant for others.
(Transitions: there are numerous reasons for one to make a commitment to join the military. Let's start off with area of interest in a branch; such as history and careers.)
I. The United States Army is the first line of defense in this country. Formed on June 14th, 1775.
A.) According to the United States Department of Defense, "The army is the largest United States Military Service. There are approximately 76,000 officers
1. The Army can be divided into two separate branches, the Army Reserves and the Army National Guard.
B.) According to the United States Department of Defense, The army has over 190 Military Occupation Specialties or (MOSs)
2. One of these jobs that a recruit might want to consider is engineering (construction): which has 22 enlisted MOS's. They build structures, developing civil work program, and support on the battlefield.
(Transitions: one of the reasons why every enlisted soldier in the army wants to become a commission officer is the grade pay.)
II. Being commissioned in the United States as an officer comes with a lot of responsibility but the reward is outstanding.
According to the 5th Army Battalion from University of Houston, Staff Sgt. Thomas (retired) told me that ROTC cadets in the program get monthly stampins
1. The Army ROTC scholarship entitles its recipients to full-tuition assistance, as well as a textbook/fee allowance and a monthly stipend to cover the student's living expense.
III. The United States Military takes great pride in their physical fitness and training." Every branch has a training period in which a new recruit must go through to officially be accepted into the designated branch. This is called Basic Training.
