Ladies and gentlemen,

According to the National Institute of Health (NIH), the relative influence of obesity on the life expectancy of future generations could be incredibly worse than it is for current generations, in other words the life shortening effect of obesity could rise.... To two or five years, or more, in the coming decades, as the obese children carry their elevated risk of death into middle and older ages. And together by passing this bill, we, can make a difference. Part of your life and everybody's is in my hands right now as I speak. Congress doesn't want our people to continue to have health problems and unfortunately die with such a sad and sorrowful cause, of obesity. Our goal here today is to make America have the best health and nutrition increase so that the U.S. can be known as a healthy country rather than an unhealthy one. Today I will be discussing the value of passing the obesity bill, who is impacted by the legislation, and what will happen if we don't pass this life changing bill today here in Congress.

There are many values to passing this bill. First of all, the United States of America as a whole needs to improve their eating habits so that we can live longer and healthier lives. People are taking risks every day just by eating fast foods, junk foods, treats, etc. too often. Now I'm not saying that you can't ever eat these harmful foods, I mean we all would like a treat once in a while, but just don't make it habitual because without moderation this could be one step closer to an earlier death, which is why, again, we need to improve our health and eating habits nationwide.

Another value of passing this life-changing bill is to reduce the expenses of necessary medical care to support unhealthy causes. Because of people choosing an unhealthy life-style it affects us ALL financially, such as, health insurance rates rise, medical bills increase, and higher taxes for everyone. In addition, higher rates in all these areas, will affect family budgets negatively which could also lead to possible bankruptcy, which will carry on to greater problems in the future, and is indeed a very depressing situation to be in. Lastly, people who are obese will have to be cared for more often than others, therefore it makes them not able to work as much as others which means less money for their family and for the company they work for.

If we do not pass this obesity bill it could lead to major problems within the near future. The NIH reports that by people making poor choices they could live up to 20 years less than the people who are not overweight, and if we do not pass this bill these rates will continue to rise which would lead to many more deaths due to the obesity within our country, and with that being said families would become more affected than they already are financially and emotionally. If we do not fix this problem now, it could
