The International Furniture Fair is the most important fair e

meeting point, worldwide, for operators in the sector

home-decor.

Its first edition dates back to 1961 in Milan,

city that welcomes the event today, and will welcome it

at least until 2032

The International Furniture Fair is held annually

in April during the Design Week at the Fair of

Milan to Rho. Initially it was organized in the fair area

sampling but since 2005 has followed the transfer of the

exhibition activities at the new headquarters built by the architect

Italian Massimiliano Fuksas. The last day of the event (the

Sunday) the show is also open to general visitors.

At the event participating companies producing seats and

furniture for home (indoor and outdoor), home appliances

and materials (both covering and structural). I'm

also present concepts and prototypes and studies on new ones

technologies, but also style and performance exercises

famous and emerging designers.

During the Salone del Mobile the Young competition takes place

Sectors

The event provide for the following divided categories

in the respective pavilions:

Classic, antique and neoclassical furniture

Design, modern furniture and contemporary design

EuroLuce, furnishing accessories relating to lighting

(biennial event)

EuroCucina, furnishing accessories for kitchens

SaloneSatellite, small stands dedicated to young designers

Fieramilano is the name of the extra-urban pole

of the Milan Fair inaugurated in autumn 2005.
