News media plays a very significant role in helping a democracy to function properly. It helps keep our democracy strong and informed on various different things. Media keeps us informed on things that happen all over the world, whether it's political, social or economy wise. It helps us to see the truth and cruelty of things that go on everywhere all around the world.
News media is most important in a democratic society due to the fact that a democratic society is ran by the citizens and gives citizens the power to elect their leaders and representatives. Putting this aside, media can help us decide which leader or representative we should vote for. They help us understand what both sides of political parties represent; they make sure the public is informed on various different government topics and on all issues that the political parties addressing to us. They can expose to us the faults and mistakes leaders make so that we know not to vote for them. They can also help us see which leader is right for us, which leader can fulfill our needs and help our economy to grow. They can also prevent politicians and leaders from misleading us with there lie in order to get elected. But as times change so does the media. The way media reports and tells us stories can change as the needs and desires of people change and increase.

It all depends on what you believe. If you believe in liberal beliefs then you will always be on the democratic side, if you have a conservative belief then you will always be on the Republican side.
Being biased isn't the only way news media has changed. Nowadays news is posted on the internet, where anyone can say anything about anyone without even having to worry about being exposed. There are blogs where people post their opinions about current leaders or leaders that are running to become president. These blogs can have violent things written about certain leaders or pleasing things written about leaders. These blogs can change the view of what a person thinks about a certain representative completely. It can make a person realize how misleading or wrong a representative is or it can make a person so angry that they decide to gather up other people and cause a riot or protest.
Another way news media has changed is the way that the news is being reported. Nowadays, journalists report the news that is given to them by public
