  1. We recommend the use of the Position Analysis Questionnaire (PAQ). One of the most useful standardized work analysis method for selection purposes. It provides the tools to establish job relatedness that is so important in today’s legal environment. As per the case scenario, CompTech currently does not have a specific job specifications for the store manager position, the specifications vary depending on the geographical area. Instead of, there seem to be a pattern of CompTech hiring store managers who have either an MBA or at least 3 years of experience working as store managers. In order to validate these job specifications, historical performance data needs to be collected and analysed to see if there is any match between having an MBA or a 3-year work experience and future job performance. These data should be examined to see whether a store manager with an MBA performs better than a store manager without one or a store manager who had 3 years of experience performs better than a store manager without any prior work experience. In addition, CompTech can conduct the Management Position Analysis Questionnaire to see whether the store managers agree on the validity of the job specifications. However, the Questionnaire method may generate biased results since store managers who acquired an MBA will most probably think that having an MBA is important to the job performance.

  1. I propose that we have exit interviews and have Job Content Questionnaire Surveys with existing managers in regards to future managerial positions, and conduct strategic job analysis to address the possible strength, weakness, threat, opportunities. We recommend that Carlyle hires a full time training and development manager to embrace change more effectively and rapidly. As the job role needs to match the business requirement. It is necessary to train employees. AS KASOCs are essential for the job role, POQ results will also help us in conducting job analysis as what kind of training needed to be given to the employees for the better customer service, satisfaction and delivery.

  1. From the exhibit, we can see that CompTech hires more males than female candidates which is quite surprising given the large number of stores they have across the United States. Also, there is a large difference in the number of white and black employees hired which doesn’t sends out a very good signal for the company’s hiring process and policy. Females have a bleak and diminished growth in the company as very few females reached to the position of store and district manager, which further leads to an increased employ turnover rate. Hence, a crucial analysis of the work environment of the company needs to be done. For example, while additional information is required, less than 20 percent of store managers are females. One way to test for adverse impact is to use the standard deviation rule by analyzing application and hiring data for both males and females.
