Prevention Of Human Trafficking in the U.S.
Human Trafficking is one of the most well-known, wide-spread occurrences of modern day slavery. Many Countries are not aware of the impact of Human Trafficking in their communities. The U.S. is thought to not be a place of occurring modern-day slavery. The U.S. is one of the main places which women, men and children are trafficked through. Unawareness of Human Trafficking in the U.S. has led to the a significant impact on the country, by educating our country on targets, different cases, crimes, and prevention of this we can bring knowledge to the country.
The crime Human Trafficking begins with obtaining certain targeted individuals. Human trafficking targets are usually women and children but men also sometimes become victims ( Human Trafficking of children 1). Women are chosen for their inability of restraint as are children, who are also chosen for their gullibility. The market also demands for young females. Educattion of targets begins awareness of this crime.
Human Trafficking can be prevented by letting people in the U.S. the crime does occur. Cases of Human Trafficking have been reported in all fifty states ( Human Trafficking of children 1). Many victims are trafficked to the U.S. from foreign nations. Often people ignore the issue because they compare the issue to current cases of prostitution (Sexual Prostitution 1). The U.S. needs to help people understand that Human trafficking is a crime that impairs our country as a whole.
Human trafficking by law is a crime that is unwilling enslavement of a human-being. Human trafficking is one of the country's most fastest growing organized crimes
(Sexual Trafficking 1). Many suspect theses crimes may be influenced by sexually explicit material. With the use of technology this material can be distributed around the world easily. This also influences the crime significantly.
Although these issues impact our country there are steps being taken for prevention. The United States is beginning to take action, in 2006 the Trafficking Victims Protection Reauthorization Act of 2005 was passed into law ( United States of America 1). The United States is going about many different methods of handling the issue, the U.S. has thought to legalize prostitution in hopes of limiting human trafficking. The best method so far has been to educate people of this issue especially in targeted areas like poorer regions (Sexually Trafficking 2). Prevention is one of the main things to be focused upon while dealing with this issue.
Human Trafficking is an issue that needs to become more aware to the communities. Human Trafficking is an organized crime that affects many lives.
