Those problems start with the difficulty of predicting the amount of work units that have to be able to work in the different production stages. This is a big problem because the available capacity is not well used. Another problem is the number of workers inside the company. They are not enough and for this reason, it's really difficult to handle the number of orders that the company has. Furthermore, the bottleneck related to the manufacturing system of the company is changing frequently because of many factors, external and internal ones. Forecasting problems lead to delays in the start of the activities and delivery deadlines. Apart from that, the company is not reaching the quality standards that they should and this is leading to return orders. For the company is also difficult to find the optimum batch size to deciding between punch press and CNC router. Another big problem is the change in the product specifications made by the clients of the company. Variation of standards from one order to another make impossible a formal quality inspection. Furthermore, most of the shipments are dispatched at the end of the month and there's a big need of reducing the lead time for procurement of raw materials.
