The Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA) is known as a provider of professional certifications for the information technology (IT) industry, accredited by the American National Standards Institute. CompTIA provides its members with business tools, resources, and educational content designed by industry experts. All proceeds are reinvested into programs benefiting the community of more than 19,000 members and businesses, spanning 89 countries of the IT industry.
They are the leading provider of technology-neutral and vendor-neutral IT certifications. These certifications produce a more productive IT workforce, with better understanding of new or complex technologies, gain more insightful problem-solving skills, better project management skills, and better communication skills.
They seek to educate the IT industry: providing educational resources, open forums and networking events, helping their members grow their businesses. CompTIA members have access to a library of research, past and present, as well as direct input in the research process, from providing guidance on research topics to assisting in the design and formulation of studies. Members may contact CompTIA research analysts with questions regarding any study, or to discuss aspect of the IT industry. Taking the input of small- and medium-sized IT businesses, they advocate as a united voice on behalf of the IT industry on Capitol Hill. Member companies provide expert testimony and written comments on various IT matters, such as workforce development, and IT entrepreneur issues.
By continuing membership, I may be placed in face-to-face and virtual meetings to network, share practices, and to collaborate on solving specific industry issues. My collaboration with other professionals can help build relationships that would open crucial options for my employer and me. This networking advantage would span over 89 countries, making it viable to remain competitive even outside of the United States. Respected technology companies recommend or require CompTIA certifications within their hiring and training protocols for their technicians and managers. Having several of these certifications will support my experience and power to progress within a company, ensuring I remain a necessary asset. The CompTIA resource library allows me access to an otherwise restricted information database; with the extended information capability, I am able to provide better support to my projects and my colleagues.
