Professional Knowledge and Abilities Paper
In a career, one must improve and advance their professional knowledge and abilities to obtain a successful profession. Knowledge and abilities can be acquired through an independent organization, from the company a person works for and through extended education. One must understand that a successful career is in fact the result of comprehensive development and expansion of hes or hers knowledge and abilities. You can also add that vast experience will also help one become more and more successful throughout their career. (The "Professional Knowledge And Abilities Affect Career"(2008)
There are several organizations in the world that are focus and devoted to increasing ones
knowledge and abilities .Take for example the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).According
to "FBI Federal Bureau Of Investigation Department Of Justice USA" (2007), It is a federal
criminal investigative, intelligence agency, and the primary investigative arm of the United States
Department of Justice (DOJ). At present, the FBI has investigative jurisdiction over violations of
more than 200 categories of federal crimes and thus has the broadest investigative authority of
any U.S. federal law enforcement agency. The motto of the bureau is "Fidelity, Bravery,
Integrity."("FBI Federal Bureau Of Investigation Department Of Justice USA",2007).
If we focus on the Bureaus motto, the first word of the three is Fidelity; meaning
faithfulness to something to which one is bound by pledge or duty. It also implies strict and
continuing faithfulness to an obligation, trust, or duty. Next is Bravery; A quality of spirit that
enables you to face danger or pain without showing fear. Feeling no fear. And lastly, Integrity;
displaying high standards of ethical conduct; understanding the impact of violating these
standards on the organization, self, and others. (The "Webster's Online Dictionary" (2011)
It is clear that with these primary focal points, the FBI is an organization that is a forerunner in
professionalism.
