Proposed System
The new online system will be set up to attract existing customers along with new customers. It will be easy for customers to search and find what they are looking for on the site. It will be easy for customers to create, sign in and checkout through the shopping cart. Customers will be able to contact customer service through the website. Also the site will be secure and safe for customers to shop.
Functional Requirements
* Customers will be able to sign into their account and have options like adding an item to a wish list or adding the item to a shopping cart to be saved for a later purchase.
* The programming language that is going to be used is ASP.net.
* All of the descriptions will be supplied by the manufacture of the items. This will require some sort of Excel template set up and sent to vendors for them to add there information to be uploaded to the website.
* All items will have keywords and Meta Tags added for easier searches.
* As for the checkout the customers will have a one page checkout for easier and faster processing.
* There will also be a backup added so no data or minimum data will be lost is something was to happen to the site at any time.
Performance Requirements
With more and more customers purchasing online today, websites need to be able to hold the amount of customers that come to their site. With this being said the site needs to be tested over and over again for errors. There also needs to be test run with software's available, to make sure the site can handle heavy traffic and not crash. This will insure that customers will not encounter any issues when shopping online. It is known that customers that run into issues when ordering online will end up going to another online store to order what they need. This site is meant to help existing customers along with new customers and gain market share.
Reliability and Availability Requirements
CV Products, Inc. website will need to be maintained 24 hours a day to insure no errors occur. There will need to be software monitor the site while employees are not at work. Is something should occur it will let the IT department know so it can be attended too. As a company succeeds the site needs to be up 99.9% of the time.
Usability Requirements
The site will be created in English language however there will be options on the site to change the language for customers outside the United States. The website will be available using any or the major browsers out there today. This will allow for any customer to come to the site and see it the same way whatever browser they might be using.
