Push and pull strategies - two approaches for promotion

Promotional strategies to get your product or service to market can be roughly divided into two separate camps. The benefit of a push strategy is that you don't need large marketing budgets; the downside is that it can ruin your relationships

1. Push strategy:

A push promotional strategy involves taking the product directly to the customer via whatever means to ensure the customer is aware of your brand at the point of purchase. Such as: trade show promotions, direct selling to consumers, packaging design to encourage purchase, point of sale displays.

2. Pull strategy:

A pull strategy involves motivating customers to seek out your brand in an active process. Such as: advertising mass media promotion, word of mouth, sales promotions and discounts.

So , A pull strategy is when you invest so much into advertisement and marketing, that consumers demand your product and the retailer has no choice but stocking it.

Downside: very expensive, benefit: the product is so popular than it's in a better position to negotiate.

2- The conventional rationale for offering a free trial is that it allows potential customers the chance to evaluate the service or content offering before making a financial commitment.

Providing a free trial can be a great sale-producing opportunity. If someone sees the benefit of what the company offer at no risk, he or she will probably lose all resistance to make a purchase from the company. This can help company build goodwill. Being thoughtful helps boost company image and reputation. It can help build traffic and a loyal following. Some might come to company store or visit company web site looking for. This can really be effective if company prospects show off company goodies.

Free trial offers for a product or service speak volumes about a company's confidence level. Whether it a free trial skin cleanser, vitamin, or business system; the manufacturer must feel strongly about that product or services usefulness.

A free trial is a bold statement. It shows that the company is certain that this is the solution to a set groups needs. And that they want this cross section to test something the producer is willing to put their name on. The business knows it is a top quality item before it gets placed in the customer's sights.

All business need customers, customers bring the buying power to maintain a successful future for the company and marketing techniques require capitol. Consumers are the winners with these offers. If this is the product to make their skin glow or help them secure a healthy future or lifestyle.
