Riordan Plant in Hangzhou China is a global plastic manufacturer employing 550 individuals with an annual income of approximately $46 million. The manufacturer is owned by Riordan Industries that produces plastics containers, custom plastic parts, and plastic fans located in Albany, Georgia, Pontiac, Michigan, and Hangzhou, China. The purpose of this paper is to discuss the supply chain management theory, the competitive strategy, the customer fulfillment strategy, and the process thinking.
Supply Chain Management Theory
Riordan manufacturer requires many inputs to accomplish their subsequent output of product to their consumers. The Riordan facility in Hangzhou, China is no different from others because as a new hire, the employee has to understand how the product is constructed at the supply chain level. The manufacturer will provide the best quality product and deliver to consumers at a reasonable lowest cost. Supply chain management uses a network of interconnected businesses that work together as a team to ensure that all customer deliveries are met. The departments within the supply chain provided goods and service that allow Riordan to deliver and stay committed to their customers. Supply Chain Management also controls their deliveries on raw materials and ensures inventories are correct. Each business has to be managed proactively to meet all standards to meet supply chain goals that was implemented by Riordan. These standards were put in place for Riordan, to supply worldwide suppliers and logistics to meet customers demand.
