Describe a situation where your objectives were not met and what you learnt from it.
"Time and tide waits for no man." I have come to greatly appreciate this adage and have vowed to live by it now. All my life, I had an educational plan and told myself I will complete my post-graduate studies before age thirty that included spending almost two years volunteering and travelling around the United Kingdom. I completed my degree at age twenty seven and did my compulsory after school national service for a year. After national service instead of following my educational plan, I decided to get a job. Fortunately for me I got the job and shelved my graduate studies ambition and totally.
I got a lot of opportunities to go back to school but my full time job now could not permit me. I would purchase admission forms and not submit it. The edge to study also started dwindling because I always got back from the office with work to do so I could meet deadlines.
I kept postponing the starting date till it dawned on me finally three months ago. After attending a cousin's graduation ceremony I had not being able to meet the objective I set for myself. Therefore when I saw the advertisement in the newspaper of PGSM, this time round I did not deter myself from purchasing the form. I also completed it and as you read this essay, it's an indication that I finally submitted my application and will surely be given the opportunity to finally achieve this objective.
I have learnt that time indeed waits for no man and that procrastination is the greatest dis-service I could do to myself. Had I presented the form two years ago when I purchased one and would have partially fulfill my career objective of moving up into the management level in my company.
