"I studied all day and night and now I don't remember a thing!<, or "Where are my car keys now? I just put them down an hour ago. Sounds familiar? When something 'slipped your mind', you are not alone. Lost your memory? Not at all. Memory is made to forget, not to remember. In fact, we know less what makes us forget than what causes us to remember.
Stress and fatigue play a role, so does a lack of interest. "But, I am interested in this subject, that's why I signed up for it." Probably so. But chances are that you are slightly disappointed with this introductory course which throws many definitions and basic concepts at you and only little of the "meat" that you were hoping for. In fact, you are slightly bored. Which is the same as a "lack of interest< and causes you not to remember.
