Abstract
Alex, Pat, and I always wanted to own a business together. We finally decided that we wanted to own a coffee shop called Sunshine Cafe. This is not an easy step for us at all. Having this coffee shop will fulfill our dream. To start this business, we will need to look for a building. Price check will come next, due to us having to apply for a loan to open up the shop. Not only we will have to be paying for the building itself, but light bills, coffee machine, microwave, oven, smoothie machine, employee's salary, and furniture is included. At the end it will be a success because it's affordable and will have so much to offer. Sunshine Café menu will be coffee, smoothies, ice cream (different flavors), brownies, donuts, and breakfast burritos.
Alex, Pat and I must think about statement of cash flows to determine how much money coming in and how much coming out. To start off, it would be best if we rent first until our profit becomes more valuable. The reason for this is that we can spend less on the building so we can get our equipment for the shop. After everything is settling, then we can start buying our business. It will be a challenge, but we just will have to use a balance sheet to keep our finances in check.
The consideration that should be taken into the account to determine their future funding is an income statement. This statement shows net profit or loss over a specific accounting period. Like I said before, and balance sheet will provide information on activities of this business. Also we should have a setback that we can't spend to save for another business, if this one becomes successful in the future.
I think that an outside investor would contribute money to the coffee shop because the more investors, the less autonomy we will have in determine the direction of our business plan. One thing that we shouldn't and will not do is bring too many partners in this business. At the end of the day, everything should be a success.
