Sex is sexual intercourse between a male and female or the same sex (gays/lesbians). Sex is something that has been around for many generations. It's used for pleasure, and also used for having children. Teen sex is dangerous because it can lead to sexually transmitted diseases, pregnancy and emotional and physical toll when he/she is not ready to have sex.
Sexually transmitted diseases include chlamydia, gonorrhea, syphilis, and genital warts. Chlamydia and gonorrhea are bacterial infections that can be cured by antibiotics and will go away in time, whereas syphilis and genital warts are viral infections and will not go away with antibiotics. Sexually transmitted disease can harm the body if left untreated, even those that can go away with antibiotics. About 40% of Americans don't know that they have some kind of STD because they don't think they could ever get it or their partner told them they don't have any type of STD. Today, teens think that they won't get it if they use a condom. Teens need to be more careful with who they are having sex with instead of just giving up their body to someone they don't know.
Sex can also lead to pregnancy if one is not careful like using a condom or not using birth control correctly. Even though pregnancy can't do harm to one's body, it changes one's life in many different ways. When a teen gets pregnant in high school, it is hard to cope with being pregnant, taking care of a newborn baby, and going to school all at the same time. Even though reproducing is in our nature, teens have to be careful and just not believe it will never happen to them in high school. There are different options to still live life as a teenager and still be a teenage mother like adoption, abortion, and keeping the baby.
Teens need to be physically and emotionally ready to have sex. A teen can't just give up their virginity just because everyone else has already had sex. They physiological effects that girls have when having sex at a young age are that their reproduction system is still immature and can't hand pregnancy and STDs. Girls have a higher rate of being emotionally depressed than boys do. Girls also have a higher chance of regretting having sex with their boyfriend or even a friend because they were not in love with them and wanted their first time to be special, and that's not how it happened for them.
In conclusion, when having sex, teens need to seek options, like if they physically and emotionally ready to have sex, also if they are ready for the consequences of harming their bodies with STDs and pregnancy. When anybody especially a teen gets an STD, they are harming their body by not knowing they have the disease or not wanting to seek treatment cause they are afraid of what their parents are going to think of them and what his/her classmates are going to think when he/she has to give the doctor names of people
