The sound of my footsteps were drowned out by the sheer noise the city generated. ‘The City That Never Sleeps’ and it was quite worthy of that title. Inaudible chatter, yelling, and the trudging footsteps, and then there was me with a cup one hand and a dog leash in another. There were so many sounds in my head some sounded like a car radio in the middle of a desert meanwhile others were almost shouting, but one thing was certain and that was i couldn't which voice was mine. I walked down the avenue and turned onto 39th street, it was my daily routine because at this time of the day my favourite pizza place had just finished baking their pies and the shop emitted a fragrance that just made my mouth water. I continued walking and eventually found a area with a large amount of traffic of people (awkward fix later). I slammed my back against the wall and slowly sat down pulling my dog closer towards me so he wouldn't block the pathway. I was just staring at the sky i wasn't sure for how long but it was interrupted by a figure covering my whole view, he had a large frame and he stood about six foot tall. He wore torn up jeans a construction jacket with with a white top under, and his outfit was rounded up with a pair of worn out dark boots. He proceeded our strange interaction by plunging one of his hands into his jean pocket and looked as if he was searching for something, his eyes began to twinkle and seemed to find what he was looking for. He pulled out a handful worth of coins and placed it in my coffee cup.
He said “You need it more than i do”
He gave my dog a pat on the head and continued on his way to work.

I passed by many people who I assumed were rich businessmen due to their suits and watches. Every single one of them avoided looking at me in the eye as if they were superior to me in some way. Many of them were probably going home to their wife and kids and were teaching them based the ideology that “sharing is caring” hypocrites really. I eventually found a nice bench in the park and laid down with my dog. They say home is where you find it and for tonight it was a nice park bench. I was awaken in the middle of the night by a bright stinging light, I was
