Work Culture Preferences
After completing the work culture assessment, my results showed that my ideal environment was expert, supportive, and well resourced. I believe that knowing what my ideal work culture is will help me determine appropriate channels of communication. I will be able to do this because I know what I am looking for. I feel that it is important for employees to have a voice and to have as much knowledge as possible. I feel that it is important that employees have well defined jobs and know what is expected of them. This is a major role of the management. It is their job to be very clear about what is expected and how to achieve those goals. I feel that it is important to have regular communication throughout that staff to ensure that everyone stays on the same page.
I tend to be more direct in the way I communicate. I am very open and honest about what I expect and how I feel about things. I feel that this is important and can create a trusting relationship between employers and staff. I strive to always be precise and not stray too far off topic. I do believe in enjoying being at work and I feel that employees should feel comfortable in their environment. I would not want my employees to ever feel like they needed to walk on egg shells but I would strive to maintain my sense of authority. I would try to improve the quality of my message by always having a plan before addressing the staff and to be as clear as possible. I would also try to think of possible questions so I could be prepared with answers.
