The two types of skin, or should we call it the two layers of skin are simply the outer skin and the inner skin. The outer layer is also called epidermis; the outer layer is mostly made of protective cells. What lies beneath the epidermis is the inner layer, which is also called dermis. It contains thousands of cells. The word dermis is the Greek word for skin, and Epi is the Greek for over , and they are the medical terms for the inner skin and outer skin.

The Skin performs many important functions in our body. Perspiration is one of them; it's basically the act of giving away unnecessary fluids by sweating through tiny openings called pores.
