A “ Beatitude Person ”

Khuong . Truong

Christian Ethics, Period 1

Holy Cross High School

“ Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted “

My mom’s life shows the meaning of the beatitude “ Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted ". When I have read this beatitude, It reminds me a few characteristics of my mother. So what does mourn mean? Mourning is the sorrow we feel after something bad has happened. Mournfulness starts from humbleness and willingness to serve others as God does. Mournfulness is the result  of humility.  Jesus is the model of mournfulness since he always loves and serves others humbly. Someone who mourn can feel other people’s sadness. My mother is a person like that. I have always felt joyful around her and being her son. Now that I’m in Canada I can still feel comforted by my mom. Why I say that? Because she still cares about me when I moved to another country – Canada. She shows her caring way by calling me and sending me something I need, ask me about my health and takes care of my family in Vietnam by doing everything she can. She is the ideal type of woman. Every woman in the world always has compassion because they feel sad when they see something sad and my mom is also. Someone die is the thing really bad with their family and with my mom, when she knows it she knows how their feeling at that time and then she will call to support their family and come to their house to give for them flowers and share the sadness with them that is the best thing we should do. The person who’s compassionate will do that without condition. My mom also has a very soft heart. When someone does something wrong or not true, she just gets angry a little bit and will forgive everything for that person because she said “ They don’t want to do something wrong, because they just don’t know how to do it “. Example is me, when I still lived in Vietnam and study grade 3, I got bad marks for the math test. I went home and told her what happened. I thought she would get angry but no, she forgive me! After that, she helped me study again and then I got a really good mark. And with everything and everyone she’s always does that, forgiving everything  If she can. My mother is blessed. She will be comforted by those she helped, me and God.
