The time period of 100 CE - 600 CE is known as classical china, during this time period there were quit a few changes both cultural -like the spread and increase of Buddhism- or political -expansion of the Chinese territory-. There were also a few things that stayed the same cultural -ancestor worship- and politically -the building of the great wall-.
Chinas culture both stayed the same and changed quit a bit. They continued ancestor worship which is a ritual practice that is based on the beliefs that deceased family members have a continued existence. This practice started with Confucius and has been a continued practice throughout China. But as Confucianism fell Buddhism began to spread throughout china. Around 200 CE Buddhism began to become the main religion in china. China also changed this religion quit a bit. They went from skinny Buddha to a fat Buddha because the thought the larger you were the richer you were and they wanted there religion to represented as a rich religion. It is still continued today in modern china.
China remained a Patriarchal society, and they continued to be ruled by dynasties, whose emperor riled by the mandate of heaven. They also kept a bureaucracy. They also continued the building of the Great Wall. Throughout the entire period and even before and after the Great Wall was being built. It was a great defense system for the Chinese and was a technological advancement. It prevented invasions from nomadic groups like the Huns which is in northern China. Also during this time china divides into three kingdoms, which then turns into 16 kingdoms. In 589 CE china was finally reunited under the Sui Dynasty by Yang Jian.
