Education is simply the soul of a society as it passes from one generation to another. ~G.K. Chesterton
Education is a gift that God has given to us. A gift so precious, that people young and old, poor or rich are given the opportunity to have one. It is up to us to have that choice of opportunity. Books were written to tell a story, there is this one book that opened the mind of others to help and contribute good ways on how they can contribute to literary and world peace, one child at a time.
Three Cups of Tea is such an amazing real life story. I can't believe that a person like Greg Mortenson could do such a good thing. Few people have the guts to believe in their own self that they can help people. Greg did what was supposed to, even if faith had brought him there by his sister. But why was it called Three Cups of Tea, it represents that with the first cup of tea you are a stranger. With the second...you are a friend. With the third cup of tea, you are a family. It is like a procedure in welcoming someone and it uses the term tea because when we drink tea it relaxes us, and we give ourselves some peace with one another.
Building schools are hard more in difficult places, and I cannot imagine Greg putting up a school in a war zone country. It is a difficult task, but he did it with perseverance and faith for change. I learned that even if we are someone who has nothing but has passion and faith, we can do something. Someday, I can be like Greg who keeps on helping other people.
