* Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP) and File Transfer Protocol (FTP)
* Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) and Internet Protocol (IP)
Synchronous is where the data is follows a certain order Asynchronous the data does not follow and order.
Analog is where the data is broken down into signal pulses and digital the data is broken down into binary format of 1's and 0's.
The computer will dispatch an XOFF character signal when it can't process more data, later when it can bring in more data once again it will send a signal XON to the transmitter.
Simplex is one way communication either transmission or reception, duplex is two way communication transmission or reception but not both at the same time.
Serial transmission bits are sequentially sent in the same wire, whereas parallel transmission bits are sent simultaneously on multiple wires within the cable.
Baseband allows one signal at a time to be transmitted, whereas broadband allows multiple signals to be transmitted at one time.
SLIP is a physical layer protocol that doesn't provide error checking, PPP provides a physical and data link layer functionality and also provides error checking.
HTTP is the hypertext transfer protocol used for transferring information between web browsers and web servers, typically relating to WWW pages and information entered on them FTP is file transfer protocol, used for transferring files across a network or the internet.
TCP provides communication services at an intermediate level between an application program and the IP, IP is a protocol without a connection as a result the data is sent by IP encapsulation, which means that the data from the upper layer protocol is collected in the form of a packet or datagram.
