My trip to the Florida Keys was crazy. When we arrived at the airport, me and my mom after going through bag checking got to take a shortcut through security by going in the bomb detector rather than the metal detector. I remember getting sprayed with some sort of harmless gas, and we went on your way and didn't have to wait in line. Once we got to the plane it was very stuffy, like being in a crowded hallway during passing period. When we arrived in Florida the first thing I noticed was the temperature change, very mucky and decalescent. Our drive through the keys to our hotel room was extraordinary, I had never seen something so full or color, huge light greens forests mixed with blue-green Ocean along with all the swaps and lakes, truly a sight to see.
When we arrived at out hotel the view from the parking lot was incredible, a huge lagoon surround by a forest. Our room had 2 beds, was very large and cold compared to the hot weather. The first thing we did was go out to eat, we were hungrey. My mom and I went to a seefood/steakhouse, my mom got the crab wich was caught locally, I not being a seafood fan got the steak wich was exploding with flavor. The next day was the day to take car of what I came here to do the most, catch a fish. I had fished a lot it lakes around plainfield before and was ready to take on the big ocean. When we got to fishing boat the first thing I recognized was how laid back the town was, very calm and seemed like everyone was a close-knit group. The waves look low, this was a good sign because I get motion sickness very easy. By the dock I saw huge drum fish about 3 feet long just sitting in was dark green water, this made me excited to get out and to choppy water to try and catch something.
When we got on the boat it held about 20-30 people, everyone a pole and the bait was fresh caught when we went out, Everyone ended catching atleast 3 or 5 king fish, I caught my first saltwater fish finally, I remember having trouble reeling it in, it was making my arm tired and weak, after that I was on a roll and caught 2 more. The next day my dad arrived and wanted to go fishing after hearing the stories, we dicided to go even bigger and try to go sail fishing. We went with a old man who on his retirement vacation. We heard on the TV in the morning that the waves were 6-10 feet high and we didn't think really anything off it, we had never had slightly bad weather so didn't know how it would go. When we were all packed up and were heading out to the ocean, I remember feeling completely find, until going into the bathroom inside our 14 foot boat, I felt sea sick. I ended up sitting down insides the boat and throwing up the entire 4 hour trip, when we got to calmer waters I had awoken to find out no one had caught anything and our trip was almost over. We decided to try one last time and my dad gives the old man his pole for a second cause he hs to use the bathroom, the old man ends up catching
