Modes By Purpose

1. Expository

A video game is an electronic game that involves human interaction with a user interface to generate visual feedback on a television or any other device. The word "video" in video game traditionally referred to a cathode ray tube display device but it now is any type of display device that can produce two or three dimensional images (television ,computer). The game systems used to play video games are known as platforms, these are personal computers and video game consoles (Xbox 360, PlayStation 3). These platforms range from large mainframe computers to small handheld devices (PSP, Nintendo DS). Specialized video games such as arcade games, while previously common, have gradually declined in use. Video games have gone on to become an art form and one of the biggest entertainment industries.

2. Narrative

I stepped out into the cold December air I saw the bright red letters of the Target sign and I knew it was going to happen. I had been begging my parents for months to get me one and today was going to be the day I got my Game Boy Advanced. As the automatic doors opened I felt the cold air rush me as the automatic doors opened. As my parents and I walked past the movies section in the store I could see in the distance the games section. I grabbed my mom's hand and ran over and I asked her if we could get it seeing that it was Christmas. She paused for a moment and then she said yes and the worker at the counter came over and puled one out for me and handed it to me. I was filled with joy I could not wait to get home and play for the first time.

3. Description

I stepped into the warm air of my room and I looked over at the window to see nothing but white crystals falling from the sky and the white ground. I turned to the right to look at my soft gray couch next to my brown oak bookcase where I kept my games. I turned to my right to see my calendar and realized that it was Saturday and I didn't have school today. I let out a sigh of relief and sat on my black sheeted bed grabbed the black remote on the table next to my bed turned on my black rimmed flat screen grabbed my white Xbox controller and I I knew today was going to be a long day of playing games.

4. Persuasion

Many people think that videogames is nothing more than a toy, but the truth is it is not it's a form of expression. The creators of these put their thoughts, hearts, and minds into these games to make them a fun experience for other to enjoy and play. There interactive stories you can play and share the experience with others. Games can make you feel happy, sad, or angry. You can experience and thing when you play a game you could be a great knight or king, a futuristic soldier, or you could relive the battle of Normandy and storm
