Chapter 1
Introduction
1.1 Background of the Study
Nowadays, technology is a new technique known for constant change and innovation in an industry. Miniature was commonly used for representing structural design with the use of blocks, paper, woods and other variety of materials to create a physical type of architectural model. Today, Augmented Reality (AR) technology is a developed idea for representing a reduced scale type of architectural model.
With the experience of virtual gaming, the researchers has come up into an idea to use Virtual Reality (VR) technology in viewing structure of an architectural design not only the external but also the internal structure with accordance of its expected scale.
1.2 Statement of the Problem
1.2.1 General Problem
Northern Bukidnon Community College is on its way into the development of its establishment. The school has this miniature architectural model that serves as a visualization for the development plan of the establishment but the client finds it hard to overview the full structure and design of the architectural model.
1.2.2 Specific Problem
- Since the existing miniature model is limited only for visualizing the external structure and design. The client cannot overview the internal structure and design of the architectural model.
- The client cannot determine the actual size or scale of the specific structure.
- The client spends more time and effort to create a new physical model especially on the internal content.
1.3 Objective of the Study
1.3.1 General Objective
The main purpose of this study is to design and develop the existing miniature model of Northern Bukidnon Community College. With the immersion of technology, the researchers well represent the architectural design of the establishment with the use of Virtual Reality technology.
1.3.2 Specific Objective
- To gather requirements to be used in the development of architectural model of Northern Bukidnon Community College.
- To analyse the gathered requirements for the design of architectural model of Northern Bukidnon Community College.
- To design the external and internal structure of the architectural model of the establishment.
- To design the architectural model in a real scale or expected scale structures.
- To be able to visualized the architectural structures of the establishment in 360-degrees.
1.4 Significance of the Study
With the use of Virtual Reality technology it will be an alternative way for the future Northern Bukidnon Community College development and is significant to the following entities.
