Why I Need to Study Abroad

As society has become more complex, there has been a growing need to provide people with appropriate learning experience in relations to the changing world. Since living in a very competitively world like today, I believe, I must be well-equipped with advance education, skills and work experience. With the above mentioned reason, I wish to further my study on Management, specifically on Fishery Management.

After introducing market oriented economy in the late 1980s, export and import of trade has become a significant component of the national economy. It is not doubt that the country's economy remains dependent on the export of commodities, mainly rice, teak, aqua products, minerals and gems. Thus, Fishery industry has been particularly important as a source of foreign exchange as well. At this moment, Myanmar is selling and exporting fishery goods in just raw condition stage. If would be beneficial and profitable if both the private and government can produce valued added fishery products to expand the market. To reach a certain goal, the country is highly in need of many experts to manage this field.

Since fishery industry is one of the most major contributors to the country's economy, I've enjoyed so much for working and learning about this sector. I've been working for this firm for almost a decade and from time to time I use to encounter and face so many problems, challenges and related issues. At the same time, I felt incompetent and guilty for not being able to effectively solve those problems because of my scant knowledge/skills and lack of formal and professional training on management, economics, capacity building, self-assertiveness skills and counseling while dealing with sensitive issues.

This is the reason why I wish to learn more about management, especially in complex situations. I do believe my existing work experience would assist me in exploring a wider view of this field. It is my belief and determination that such professional training and academic course work will build up my capacity to seek better understanding on my country's economy, export market, international trading and management.
