What approaches to managing diversity is embraced by this organization?
Allstate has made inclusive diversity a central part of their business strategy. The strategy is set and guided by an Executive Diversity Council and implemented by a Chief Diversity Officer. Managers are creating an environment that encourages its workforce to contribute their own unique talents and idea is part of its culture and thus over years it has been a recognized leader in workforce diversity. Managers are constantly making strides to embrace diversity within their organization. Some of the things they are doing are diversity education, mentoring programs and support networks. Allstate has a very strong feeling about affirmative action which is a big deal in the workforce. Here are some facts about diversity I found about Allstate to show that managers are successful when it comes to diversity More than 40% of officers and managers are women, more than 20% of officers and managers are from one of five minority groups. Employees are nearly 60% are women and More than 30% are minorities. With numbers like these I believe that managers are very successful in embracing diversity in the workplace and will continue to in many years to come.
Is it conducive to the workplace of today?
I believe that it is conductive in the work because of the way people are trained with the diversity. With the diversity training that they offer they teach people to respect other people's values and beliefs as well as how to communicate to people in a professional matter. With these skills Allstate has taken leaps and bounds to support diversity in the workplace and will continue to excel in years to come.
Provide suggestions on ways to further improve their diversity programs.
I think that if Allstate did company functions and do activities that encouraged people to get together to get to know each other so there would be no problems at work would be a huge step. I also suggest that someone who leads a support group sets aside time so people who have concerns and questions can talk to someone with confidentiality. I think this would help because a lot of people may feel threatened to talk about their problems with a group and prefer a one on one environment.

Top managers encourage diversity in the workplace. Allstate is one of the most diverse workplaces in the country. They support these programs by encouraging employees to attend support groups and get diversity training so that the workplace is friendlier.
