My name is Allyson Griffith
I was born on May 12th 1987 in the small town of Pascagoula, Mississippi. I was removed from my biological parent's custody at the age of four months old due to the abuse and neglect that I was enduring. My biological parents had their parental rights taken away and I was transported to Medford, Oregon. I was put directly into state custody which meant foster care. I was in foster care until I was eighteen months old however I spent most of those months in a hospital nursery to recover from the horrible first months of my life. At the age of eighteen months old I was adopted by a wonderful family who at that time was living in Salem, Oregon. That's the moment my life changed. I have two adopted brothers. We were all adopted from different families. My father was always busy working for the Oregon State Police and my mother was working for the Salem Hospital. We eventually had to move to Bend, Oregon because that is where my dad's work took us. My mom was able to transfer to St. Charles Hospital in Bend. I remember all the fun vacations we would take to Hawaii and Disneyland, but my childhood was not always as beautiful. My childhood was actually very rocky and I ended back up in foster care when I was twelve. I was in and out of different foster/group homes. I just never felt the love that a child should feel. I was always scolded and it seemed that no matter what I did I was always doing the wrong thing.
School has always been the biggest struggle for me due to being in foster care. I was always being taken in and out of different schools every four months. I ended up graduating with a standard diploma from the Portland public school district. Once I graduated I finally was able to put myself on my own two feet and that is when I met my boyfriend of now five years, we now have a beautiful little boy.
I have decided to pursue my education further, because I want to make a better life for my family and myself .
