Introduction

In this paper we will be discussing the effective communication. The verbal and nonverbal communication is the first thing that we will be discussing. The difference between listening and hearing in communication is the second thing that we will be discussing. The formal and informal channels of the communication within the criminal justice are the third thing we will be discussing. The different barrier to effective communication in the criminal justice department is the fourth thing we will be discussing. The strategies that could be implanted to overcome in the communication barriers that is within the criminal justice is the last but the most important thing we will be discussing. Now that we have talked about what will be in the paper let's get to it shall we.

Verbal and nonverbal communication

Now since we have talked about what will be first and that will be the verbal and nonverbal. Starting with the verbal communication. This is where people express their thoughts and feelings through words. This is also known as the best way to communicate. The way we express ourselves, like the way we do our faces, the way we try to get the right words out, tone, the volume and how we are so careful not to hurt anyone. Here are some examples of the verbal communication: face to face, one on one, in person, phone, TV and radio. There is now what the call sign langue that we can talk to people that is deaf. Lectures now have the people that have them there to do the sign language. The other way verbal communication is the written word. Now this is the other ways: faxes, emails, texts, books and more. Now in law enforcement or just law there are different ways we talk.

Now let's get to the nonverbal communication. The nonverbal communication is the way we do our body language, the tone in the voice, the visual contact; movements are just some of the ways. But these things are signals that make important information without saying a word. Having the ability to read and communicate by the nonverbal way with others is a good thing. This can help us when there is a time when we cannot use words or write them.

Difference in Hearing and Listening

A lot of people do not think that there is a difference between hearing and listening but let me just say that there is a difference. Hearing is something I do when I have my TV on and I am doing my school work. I hear it but not listening to it because it does not get my attention. Listening is when you are fully focused on what is being said and not the noises around you. This is also when you are paying attention and getting all the information in. Listening well will make you a better officer and you can do your job better. Here is a list that will help you be a better listener:
