Global Warming

The issue that we are now having is that we are using too much fossil fuel for energy production and transport. Fossil fuel is oil, coal and natural gas that are formed from the remains of plant and animals living millions of years ago. All fossil fuels are made up of hydrocarbons, and release carbon dioxide when burned this is not good. Almost 80 percent of the industrial world's energy is currently from fossil fuels. We as American have to watch what we do to save the planet and put a stop to global warming. By buying cars that are more efficient instead of gas-guzzlers cars is helping to stop global warming. Most CO2 emissions are from the destruction of tropical forests in form of simple burning the wood, or logging. When burning this emits massive amounts of CO2 into the atmosphere, and when logging you also are at risk of fires by drying out and heating up because you removed the trees that create shade and store moisture. Global warming makes for hotter, dryer summers and with that more forest fires.
I feel this issue has a lot of merit, if we do not take care of our planet; then, we will not have the same planet for our children or grand children that we all love. I really do not see this as a moral issue just an issue that some things need to change. I do not think it is moral to cut down the tropical forests to build industrial agriculture like cattle ranching and palm oil plantations because taking away those forests you are now leaving this open space that gets hot because there is no shade and no moisture on the ground to cause more fires that CO2 emissions. Some issues locally that need to be fixed to stop global warming is that many homes around my area all have oil heating, is someone going to help change all the oil heaters to gas or electric heaters, because I know I cannot afford to do that myself. Another thing is that to save on the oil heating, many people in this area have fire places to warm their homes, so it these homes you have oil heating and fire places both giving off CO2. Living in a low-income area it is hard to change our cars just because they are gas-guzzlers, and buy an eco friendly car. I work in an industrial park that pollutes the air every day, without these jobs many people will be out of work. Therefore, with the oil heat, fireplaces, and non-eco friendly cars, my area seems to be putting a lot of CO2 into the air and killing our atmosphere.
If more companies used wind, and solar energy it would in the end help the environment and save money. I feel that the biggest problem is that when more companies start doing this then more people will follow by example. I have noticed that more cars that are new are made with an eco mode so it saves on gas and is better for the environment.
