Influence of Motivation in Performance
The contingent reward system has been a matter of concern and attention in any field of business nowadays. Thomas (1994) defines it as "motivation-based system that is used to reward those that meet their identified goals. It provides positive reinforcement for a job well done". Organizations have realized that employee's job satisfaction is one essential element in increasing customer satisfaction and that helps to keep business running, as competition is getting stronger. In order maintain employees motivated, it is really important that firms create some kind of incentive system to promote and encourage performance. In the case of the Food Restaurant I would recommend the following contingent reward system:
Make the owner or Head Manager aware of an employee's Performance.
I would suggest that the Head Manager or the owner write out the recognition with a personal note every month to thank the employee that most perform in the restaurant for that particular month.
Reward employees with cash or gift cards.
We could also reword employees of the month with cash or gift cards.
Provide free lunch.
Giving free lunch for the employee of the day would also a good motivation.
Provide bonus and special trip.
Employee with the most title of employees of the mouth would get a special trip at the end of the year and a salary bonus of 20% or more
Motivation is a tool that an organization uses to influence the activities and behavior of workers. To encourage workers to meet productivity goals, the Manager and supervisor must select the tools that best meet the needs of the worker. Rewards such as bonus, trips, paid vacation days and even free lunches are effective reward factors when introduced properly. I believe if we use this mechanism out employees will be motivated in cleaning the facility every three hours because of the compensation for a good performance.
