Life Experience
Graduation is a well waited ceremony in life. Everyone looks forward to this special day, but I knew there was going to be more to my graduation than getting my diploma. This day suppose to mean new changes in my life, the time to become a new person, to grow up, to follow my lifelong dreams and separate the responsibilities from the fun. I never thought my graduation would not mean that much to me, since I was pushed from grade to grade. On my graduation day I woke up feeling so sad. The Houston Independent School District, felled me, including my parents. My only option after high school was finding a job. Once I got motivated to get up and move around, I jumped into the shower and prepared myself for my graduation ceremony.
After my graduation, I applied and worked at a lot of retail and fast food restaurants. In 2002, I applied at Wal-mart Supercenter at that became my dreamed job. While working for Wal-mart for the first few months I finally felt at peace with myself. I also, decide not to remember anything about grade school or my graduation because I knew nothing would ever change. Meanwhile, a year later I had my own car and living in my first apartment. In my mind, my life was finally looking positive. For example, I took my negative way thinking about my life and changed it over night to benefit my short term goals. Finally, something amazing going on in my life without the help of no one.
However, after three years of working I wanted more money. I wanted to travel and do something different besides paying bills every two weeks. With this in mind I knew I had to step out on faith and find something different. During 2004, The United States Post Office was hiring for all areas throughout the facility but you must pass the exam first. So immediately I felt intimidated because I knew I wasn't as smart as the average kid in grade school. Indeed I was intimidated but I didn't let my pass contradicted my future. So I took the exam and passed with a high C average. Finally, I achieved something without having so much self doubt.
After a year later of passing my exam the post office finally called me in for an interview. Once selected and completion of training my life took a sudden change. For example, I was able to pay all my bills on time and live life comfortably throughout the month. Also, I was able to purchase anything my heart desired. Suddenly, after four years of employment the economy took a sudden change. Due to economy my manager announced if your hired date was less than six years you would be layoff. Because of this my job ended January 2009. I was crushed and confuse. Soon after I immediately decided to face my biggest fear, my education. I enrolled in Houston Community College in February 2009, studying to be social worker.
