Mission, Vision, and Values Paper

Comcast Corporation (CC) is known for being the fourth largest cable company in the world and has provided 21 million consumers with an assortment of entertainment for the last 47 years (Comcast, 2010). CC's goal is to become the number one cable provider in the world and is planning to expand globally. CC has plans to become the next global leader of telecommunications and entertainment because of its main competition with Dish Television Network. CC has combined forces with different telecommunication companies like other channels along with other companies like QVC and E Entertainment Television.

Because the unfriendly takeover of Satellite Companies, Satellite Companies have become CC's main threat. Comcast Corporation needs to retain their customers and gain new customers to achieve its goals. This paper will analyze Comcast Corporation's background. This paper will analyze the mission, vision, and values statements in how these statements aid Comcast Corporation in reaching its desired end state along with the components of the strategic management process needed for the vision and mission of the company.

Comcast Background

Comcast Corporation was founded by a couple of people in 1963. The founders were Daniel Aaron, Ralph J. Roberts, and Julian A. Brodsky. In the early 1960s, Comcast Corporation origin begun in Tupelo, Mississippi and was known back then as the American Cable System. In 1969 Comcast Corporation was incorporated from American Cable Systems to the name Comcast Corporation. The name "Comcast" derived from the word "Broadcasting and "Communication" (Comcast, 2010). Today, Comcast Corporation is known as the largest cable company in the U.S. and is headquartered in Pennsylvania. The products Comcast consists of are Comcast Digital Voice, cable television, broadband Internet, and Home Networking. Comcast's revenue consists of over 25 billion and has about 85,000 employees. Now, CC is the leading telecommunications, cable and entertainment company in the industry (Comcast, 2010).

Mission Statement

Comcast Corporation wants to become the global leader in telecommunication and entertainment. CC wants to provide entertainment globally. CC wants to provide their consumers with new opportunities, new communication technology, and more options. To enhance its services and products, Comcast wants to continue providing its consumers with the latest global communication tool (Comcast, 2010). Comcast Corporation will continue to focus on its consumers with efforts to retain its consumers.

Comcast needs to create and put into effect a strategy because the company needs to keep up with the competition of other companies like Dish Television. Comcast needs to focus in offering consumer satisfaction to their current and
