Having a nursing career comes with many advantages in our economy today which includes its flexibility, competitive salary, personal satisfaction, high demand, recession proof and well respected profession.

As a nurse, you can work in different fields like hospitals, corporations, research labs, health insurance companies, rehabilitation centers etc. you can also travel to any state in US or different countries. Nurses can also choose where they want to work in the medical department such s childbirth, surgery, critical care, etc... which makes it so flexible.

Furthermore there is also flexibility in career; nurses sometimes change jobs throughout their careers to take advantages of the many opportunities available. For instance, a nurse experiencing burnout can stay in the right profession by moving laterally to another field of nursing or by earning an advanced degree and moving out the ladder. With so many positions available, it's easy to see why nursing is truly flexible and one of the most fulfilling professions out there.

In 2004, the media income for all registered nurses was over $52,000. These figures are very likely to continue to increase.
