TIBET WILL LIVE AGAIN

Our snow peaks are melting

Our forests are wilting

Our rivers are putrefying

Our animals are starving

Our monasteries are crumbling

Our people are moaning

Our nation is dying

And China is celebrating

But have no doubt

Our peaks will be white with snow again

Our forests will flourish again

Our rivers will cleanse again

Our animals will eat again

Our monasteries will rise again

Our people will rejoice again

And Tibet will live again

If only we do not lose hope

And continue our struggle for freedom

When Orwell wrote "1984"

In China he distinctly foresaw

Activities being closely monitored

And free speech being brutally butchered

How barbaric of those who would stem freedom

In pursuit of power and monetary income

Now in 2010

I pen again and again

And wage a war against the hydra

To win democracy for China

To regain Tibet's long-lost freedom

And reclaim our rightful kingdom

Just as the moon

Reflects the sun's rays

So too must the government

Reflect the people's voice

Thus when the people

Calls someone a traitor

The government must say the same

For the government to do otherwise
