TIBET WILL LIVE AGAIN
By Tsoltim N. Shakabpa
Our snow peaks are melting
Our forests are wilting
Our rivers are putrefying
Our animals are starving
Our monasteries are crumbling
Our people are moaning
Our nation is dying
And China is celebrating
But have no doubt
Our peaks will be white with snow again
Our forests will flourish again
Our rivers will cleanse again
Our animals will eat again
Our monasteries will rise again
Our people will rejoice again
And Tibet will live again
If only we do not lose hope
And continue our struggle for freedom
"1984"
By Tsoltim N. Shakabpa
When Orwell wrote "1984"
In China he distinctly foresaw
Activities being closely monitored
And free speech being brutally butchered
How barbaric of those who would stem freedom
In pursuit of power and monetary income
Now in 2010
I pen again and again
And wage a war against the hydra
To win democracy for China
To regain Tibet's long-lost freedom
And reclaim our rightful kingdom
THE SUN AND THE MOON & THE PEOPLE AND THE GOVERNMENT (by Tsoltim N Shakabpa)
Just as the moon
Reflects the sun's rays
So too must the government
Reflect the people's voice
Thus when the people
Calls someone a traitor
The government must say the same
For the government to do otherwise
