The web is the tool they will use. Having on-line tourism databases showing the tourist what is available even before they arrive. If you do not have a web site to browse, they will most likely go with those who do. It is also key to note that many make decisions on a destination simply by comparing the quality of the web site, like some will do with pricing. Most will choose the company who has the clean, fun and detailed web site over the company who has simply thrown one together. A web presence is very helpful.
The appropriate business model would be a content provider. This is because the main purpose is to provide information to someone about a place that they never visit before. They can have to opportunity to look at photos and videos over the web of Columbiana. At the same time the web provider can might still be able to advertise on the website. The website should be able to provide the face to face ability and having richness so a tourist can know exactly what is there. The website needs to have that global reach and the ubiquity that wherever a person is, they can view and understand about this country. Maybe have the ability to personalize or customize their plans so it will already be done before they enter the country. They also want to have they ability to connect with social networks from the website. This can include sharing photos they got on the website to post of Facebook.
