The Moment of Sorrow
The observer can see that a pre-funeral viewing and commemoration service was about to take place. Walking into the room, one can see it's filled with flowers, memorials, and the is staff cleaning and dusting, aiming for perfection. Directly in front of the entrance across the room is a white coffin laced in gold. Inside that coffin is a small girl who is dressed in white with a silver tiara placed on her head. She resembled a princess, but clearly she is an angel. The coffin is surrounded by an assembly of flowers consisting of white orchids that smell like a sweet kiss of lavender. The roses next to the white orchids are a soft pink and a deep rich purple. Draped across the lower half of the coffin is a blanket woven of these flowers. It looks as if the flowers are handpicked from the Garden of Eden. Placed all around the room are many boxes of tissue for those in grief to use to wipe away tears. The staff circles around the room checking readjusting and checking again to ensure a pleasant atmosphere for such a grim event. On the left side of the room, inside a 46 inch box, is a visual (a collection of photographs) of the deceased's life from pre-birth to the age of eight, which was right before her death. This box holds memories and brings this sleeping child to life with smiles, giggles, and brilliantly written letters expressing her eternal love for her family. The observer can feel in the air the anxiety of grief, mixed emotions of gratitude, and somber celebrations of life. To alleviate the "lumps and heartbeats" of sadness in their throats, they seek one of many pitchers of water placed on end tables located throughout the room. Many chairs are strategically placed close together so that the family can comfort one another. There are many crucifixes throughout the room in respect of the family's belief of eternal life. There is a podium with a book placed on top of it. The book is titled Guest Registry. This guest registry allows the family to view the names of their supporters and remember who grieved and celebrate with them. The room has an eerie sad feeling, and, soft somber music plays in the background, and precious well thought out flowers and visuals brought comfort and a sweet humbling joy of not a loss, but of a heavenly gain. Soon this room will be filled with loved ones to say their Bon Voyage to a child whose life had been a journey of perfection in heavenly grace.
